How did the factory apply the heritage stripes?
After laying down a set of heritge stripes on my 92 Z28, I have to wonder how the factory did it. There is no way they had a machine do it, that would be impossible. So I would have to assume that some plant employees were doing it by hand. But this would have been extremely time consuming, and expensive. The Z28 hood stripes were really hard to do because of the contours in the hood under the blisters. How did GM do it? Did they actually pay a handfull of union plant employees $35 an hour each to lay down heritage stripes, to the tune of about 2 hours per car per person? That doesn't seem economical, or Gm-like.
I'd like to know this as well. I've seen decal guys lay down big decals really quick and 'dry' even so it can be done relatively quick. I'd be pretty nervous trying to do it myself especially since there are several that go on a Z28. THey aren't still available are they?

Yeah, they are still available. Pheonix graphics sells them, and they are licensed by GM, so the quality is exactly like the OEM stuff.
