It's wrong. If we had to keep track of all the printed BS, nonsense, and confusion people make, there would be no space left on the server.
BTW, there were no 1LE's until 88, which only 4 were made.
I just can't take it anymore, here comes a sticky!

I just can't take it anymore, here comes a sticky! Just cause someone puts it into print doesn't make it true. That's the Camaro Performance Handbook by David Shelby right? Not a bad book, and quite a nice guide for beginners, but I was underwhelmed. It brought up good modification ideas (exhaust, ECU, intake, stereo, whatever) but then gave no info on how to install them. You could learn more in three days on here and write your own book. Plus its free.
When the books are written, the publisher will contact a resource known as an "expert". The first thing they do is search the internet today. Unfortunatley, sites like iroc-z.com are found quickly and easily because of the domain name. The information is expected to be accurate, but is way off.
Two years ago, I was contacted regarding the book, Standard Catalog of Camaro 1967 to 2002 (check the intro page, the publisher thanked me with the likes of Scott Settlemire
). The publisher and I hashed out a lot of misinformation that he had prior to the book being published, however, I only answered the questions he asked. I wish I had the chance to proof the book, because there are still alot of errors. I backed up my answers by searching this site and with original documentation from Chevy.
With that said, even Chevy documentation is inaccurate. They have pictures of 91 RSs with the old style taillight, which never occurred. Just because it's in a book, doesn't mean it exists. There has not been a single confirmation of a 350 5 speed or an 86 350 yet. If they were that rare, we'd know about them!!
