Last night I was at borders book store and I found a book on firebirds from 67-02, naturally i bought it. So I'm looking at the 1990 section, the year of my car, and notice they listed the engine code for the 350 tpi as B2L rather than L98. The LO3 and LB9 are listed as they should be. Anyone have any info about this? Is it possible the book is just wrong?

 

B2L is the RPO code for the option package that the L98 is part of.

 

In the Camaro white book it does not list the L98 but if you go to the main page of this website you will find a place were you can type in your RPO codes & this is what it says.

B2L : PERFORMANCE PACKAGE & ENGINE PACKAGE V8 5.7LPFI
L98 : 5.7 LITER V8 TPI ENGINE

My 87 Irocz has both in the RPO codes.
