2 build sheets??!?!

As some of you may have already read i found my build sheet under my rear seats a few months back. This was exciting for me. I found out my car came with 3.23 gears. I was under the impression it was stuck with 2.73's.

Well anyhow, i was tearing out my interior today, to make way for my new carpet and seats. And under the front drivers side area carpet i found another copy of my build sheet. This one looks in even better condition than the other one which i thought was in new perfect condition.

I know some people search there car high and low for a buildsheet.

Is it normal to find 2 copies?

Do they match? Do they have the same VIN #?

There are build sheets and assembly tags scattered thru-out every thirdgen. There is no real pattern for why some have more/less than others. The people assembling the cars could either leave their sheets in the cars someplace out of sight, or they could wad them up with their bubble gum and toss em in the garbage.

Awhile back I had found 2 DIFFERENT build sheets from my 89 IROC. One was under the trunk carpet, and the other was under the back seat carpet. They both had the car's vin on it, but they were different. They looked different, but had some duplicate info on them.

When I gutted my '91 RS, I found the build sheet in the rear glove box thingy on the left side. It was laying face down and for years I just thought it was a liner for the box. It was cool to find it.

I also found a paint code sheet taped to my front bumper ( the actual steel bumper, not the cover). It had been painted over, but was still readable. The area under the sheet was bare metal so the car was painted with it in place. Is this a common thing to find?
