Pontiac Gurus Inside...... 1990 TA Bandit II

Couldn't find any history on a 1990 Smokey and the Bandit 2. Do they exist? Car definetely needs soom work..... but would be worth it if it's a desirable/rare car. Anywhere I could find info on this car would be helpful. It's supposedly a 1990 Firebird T/A Bandit II Edition. Has the eagle on the hood....like the older TA's. If I remember right, it also has a shaker hood.

Thanks.

I've seen a few of these cars before.

Here is one small page of info on them:

And that one was NOT a Formula to begin with... another LO3 engine, but not a Formula.

the one we got is a 305 tbi with t-tops. I don't really like the gfx that were put on it. From the research ive done a place in tenesse called choo choo customs did the work.

Never noticed that he had called it a Formula in the ad, but i agree that you're right. Just was pointing out that it was a Bandit Edition. There was another one on e-bay several weeks before the one above was up for auction, but it was red.

Yep, Choo Choo Customs out of TN did those and the Pro Am Firebirds (plus "Team Camaros"). Basically just a base bird with an older style shaker hood mounted to the hood (not even a real shaker).

I can post some but it is damaged we picked it up at a salvage auction, hood, nose, driver fender, and headlamp are all screwed up. Plus a small bit of frame damage on the front driver side corner of the car.

If I bought a couple hundred base model Firebirds and stuck some tacky graphics and a cheesy plastic scoop on the hood, would they demand a higher price 10 years down the line? I sure hope not.

In my opinion if its not a factory option, the quality is in question.

Links not correct, first one is the rim, second shows the name stitched on the seat.

All of the Bandit II's I have seen have had "5.0 Litre EFI" on the scoop. Not sure if liter was spelled american style or brittis "litre" like the late 70's cars.

The hood bird looks like the bird from 1979 - 1981 non turbo trans ams.

I have the GFX that they used on those Bandit cars. They were on my '89 Formula. They are in good shape. PM me if you want to buy them.
