especially if is an 82 83 84 firebird, i just want reassurance/motivation, would want to see stock factory appearance restoration

you never see any cars of any year make model getting redone around here, i need to get out of here so i can be around such and be part of it even, but no shops are hiring anywhere in this country bet,

I saw a 84 Recaro(sp) pace T/A at the nats this year that had been done ground up and it was done VERY WELL ... it looked just like (but newer looking) than the car next to it... everything from the plating on the bolts and brackets to harness stickers man it was nice.. no pics though ..sorry

I saw the same car that Tony saw. It belongs to a friend of mine named Mark W. It was a 1984 15th anniv. T/A.
I met Mark at the nationals, and we have become good friends.

He went through the entire car, and replaced or repaired everything with the CORRECT parts. Took the car to a bare shell, rebuilt the entire drivetrain.

He did make a few concessions by powder coating some of the parts, but the finish is beautiful, and they will be far more durable than the factory finish.

Every system in the car was gone through.

All three of the 15th T/A's competeing at the nationals this year were exceptional examples. Marks car won the class, however it should be noted that 1.5 points seperated third from first place. .5 seperated 1st from second.

I would say that this is the only truely "restored" thirdgen I have ever seen. It was not just a paintjob and some shiney rims.

It proves that yes, it can be done. But keep in mind that this was not cheap!
