Value of a '91 1LE?

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, so please forgive me if it isn't. I am looking at a 1991 Z28 1LE (I have seen the build sticker) and it is in relatively good shape. It has 131k on it and they are asking $4,995. They are willing to deal but I am curious what a stripped (weren't most of them stripped) 1LE would be worth. Only options are tilt wheel and an aftermarket CD player.

305 TPI & a 5 spd.

Thanks in advance.

Thats the way the 1LE's came. They never really had all the power options and A/C etc. It was a stripped down "racing car". HMM that sounds like an amazing price. The 5speed/tpi is a very sought after combo. I'd whip it up. If your thinking the 1LE is rare, it sort of is but not really. I know the production numbers are in the 100's for 91. I dont know, its got high miles, I'd buy it to drive it and have fun in.

I was looking at one too. I know of some 1LE sites and was going to ask them but was afraid they would snap it up if it was a good deal.

Try:

http://www.1le.net/

Or do a search (Google and here). Good luck. Remember from what little I've read they're not an every day driver for most because of the suspension. That's why they didn't include air unless it was offered with a B4C. The straight 1LE was for racing and the options were included or deleted to make the car competitive.
It would be fun to own one because I remember a site where they go into the history of individual cars and post it on the site.

Yeah, it would be for a 2nd/3rd car for me, not my DD. There are a FEW 1LEs that came "loaded" (minus A/C of course) and there is one currently for sale on one of the boards....the guy included a pic of the build codes and "1LE" is on there, as is G92 and L98 IIRC.....can't prove that it is on THAT car, but it prolly is. Sadly, the guy wants like 8 grand, PLUS its a 350/auto which I do NOT want the auto trans. Oh well.......the search continues. Also, I believe there was 478 of them in '91, which I reckon is rare, but I am not buying it to collect for $$ or due to its "rare" status.

Thanks for the info. I am looking to build up a "toy" for fun only........and it would be interesting to see the site with all the individual cars on it.

Anyone else with further info or that knows of a decent '91-'92 5 spd Z28 for sale in decent shape (no wrecks or rust) I would love to hear about it.
