88 iroc no t-tops

Is that a rare option ? I own a 1988 tpi iroc-z without t-tops it seems to be rare since all thirdgen irocs i see in Sweden at carshhows have t-tops ,does who doesnt have t-tops are always RS models.
I got myself a copy of the Camaro whitebook but i cant find anything on this there.

T-tops was just an Option & out of the 90,655 Coupes produced that year only 41,005 Were t-tops, plus you got to remember the 5,620 verts that were produced started life out as a t-toped car as well.

I would not say 'rare' but unless Krazzycowgirl is only referring to IROC models when stating coupes, they are playing with statistics. You asked about IROC-Z without t-tops. It would only make sense that a large number of the bare bone camaro models did not have t-tops as it was an expensive option. As the you move up to the IROC-Z, dealers are more willing to add on a t-top option.
I would think the real numbers are out there somewhere.

There is no way in H E L L that you can find out how many cars were made with out t-tops or even with a combnation of options. Because GM (chevy for say) didnt keep those records. You cant even get the option listing for early 3rd gens from chevy you can get them if you own a Pontiac but not a Chevy.

I have seen a high amounts of 3rd gen base or low modeled (rs) cars get t-tops & very little high modeled (z28 or iroc) get the same option.
All we know is that ALL if not most of the 3rd gen Convertables (produced as verts offically by ASC for GM) were all orginally produced as T-toped cars.

Dealers yes can have the car shipped to them as a hard top car then have the car shipped to a shop to get t-tops in them But these are FACTORY Numbers not Dealer numbers.

The number of Dealer optioned cars are no where to be found. I had a friend who had a 91 Z28 350 Car with Dealer option t-tops & there was no records of it being done. Except by the Org. Dealership which had closed down 2yrs after the car was sold.

When I stated 'dealers are more willing to add on t-top option' I was referring to a dealer ordering an IROC for dealership inventory with t-top option from GM.
