Good Deal

Okay I wasnt sure to post this cause it oesnt fit anywhere. Im looking a 84 z28. its pretty clean, could use a good scrub on the outside, new seats, and new dash top but besides that its nice. Is $2500 outrageous or somewhat of a deal? Its the only one I can find, not sure on how it drive though

I guess there are a million questions but the obvious ones are....

What engine does it have, If its Stock it will have a V8 regardless, but there were a couple options that year. If its a HO car then 2500 might not be bad... Take into consideration what kind of work you will have to put into it in order to restore it.

Quality Professional Paint Job $3000 to $4000
Interior (do it yourself) $1000 for everything, just takes time
Interior have a shop do it for about $2000
Dash pad, a new one is about $250 good used ones are from $50 to $100

Carpet alone is 250 ish and thats not installed

New door seals $500 for everything would cover it.

Do some figuring look at it close, decide what your willing to live with and what you want to fix. Rust is a big avoidance issue with me... Engines, even if they dont run don't bother me.. Its all in your skills.

I would take a notepad, and go around the car a couple of times, jot down things that would need to be fixed be very picky.

Call a bumpshop for paint, tell them what you have, get a quote.
Call an interior shop ask them what it would cost to have a new interior put in it.

If you can take it for a test drive, tell the guy that your going to be gone for a while as your going to get some quotes on fixing it up... He may or may not go for it.

Okay thats paints fine, its not show quality but it looks good non the less. I can get a new dash pad for $116 + shipping. The interior only looks to need new seats and I could live with it. It is an original H.O car but that engine went bad I guess so the guy put another 305 in it, but I get the H.O with it.

Does it need new paint, or just a cleaning?

If it's the HO motor, and a 5 speed, and there is little to no rot, and it has t-tops, and some options, then yes. Anything less than that I wouldn't pay $2500 for it.

I got my first 1984 Z28 HO 5 speed with t-tops and no rust for $500. I got my second with an automatic and no rust, fully loaded, for $300 + my dead 83 Suzuki LT125 ATV.

Good deals or what they are worth? No idea. But it worked out good for me lol

well around here it next to impossible to get a deal like that. Im not what options but its an automatic. The headliners bad to but thats about it along with the seats. The dash pad isnt to bad. The paints nice it just needs washed and a good detail job and it will shine like new
