Selling a 3rd gen for $10K ... am I crazy?
Just wondering what you guys think. I bought a 92 B4C Camaro from my local Police Dept. One of 589 made in 92, one of 1181 total making this the rarest model 3rd gen Camaro. Its a black hardtop with L98/700R4, 1LE and A/C. The history of the car will be documented and next owner will have full service records for the life of the car. I'm going to be restoring it to perfect condition (all appearance wise, drivetrain is solid). I estimate it will have between 105K and 110K miles when fully restored. I plan to sell this car for $10,000 to someone who wants to collect it. Do you guys think I'm crazy?
P.S. Only reason I have this idea is because I used to own a different 92 B4C and I sold it for $7,000, found out the guy who bought it from me sold it for $10,000 and that one was not restored or documented.

Not so sure with those miles, I'd say go slightly less. BTW, 1LE's are the most rare.

I think 1LE Firebirds are the most rare 3rd gen F-Body. But out of all the Camaros, the B4C had the least ammount produced. Well according to the Tech Page anyway, I dont really know for sure. So the 100+K miles is a little too high for that price huh? Hmmm

I have nothing useful to add to this post, but I wanted to say congrats to IROCZTWENTYGR8 for finally finding his IROC
I have no idea when he found it (don't come here a lot anymore, but the third gen fever is getting worse and worse
), but I know he looked for a LONG time...
I've been keeping my eyes on eBay VERY closely over the past 6 months. I'll be paying around $10k I'm guessing for what I'm looking for, but its going to be a 25-35k mile mint original IROC 350...
Hope all's been well around here. By the way, whatever happened to Drew? I noticed he hasn't been a moderator for some time...

nah, its not a crazy Idea shawn, what I think is crazy is this 69 camaro that my uncle tried to buy, the dude was asking 45 grand for a half restored numbers matching Z28. I just love the profit that youd score from sellin it for 10k though... hehe...heh.. eh.....

Crazy, are you on Oahu? My wife and I were there (Honolulu ) June last year. While driving around, I saw a black Camaro with police markings all over it...but IIRC no lights (not sure about that). Sitting at a light...I was in my rented Red rustang convertible
Any way...was just wondering if it was you......

Yeah you guys are right, I should just list it and see what happens. Its gonna be a pretty nice profit, most of that money will be going into my new motor for my 91Z. Pretty excited about that one!!
Hey dual_88's, no that wasnt me. I just recently got my hands on this B4C. But I have a good feeling the car you saw is the same car I bought. It was the last 3rd gen in the HPD fleet and it used to have all kinds of HPD decals and whatnot. This was the high speed pursuit camaro #251. I'm attaching the only picture I have of it still in HPD trim:

Well....been nearly a year and IIRC that is what it looked like...it was a black Camaro and it did have HPD stickers on it....just don't remember the lights....bad case of CRS....
Was just so shocked to see it,....
Where in the island can there possibly be a high speed pursuit? Highways always seemed pretty stacked up...
I do have a question for you. On the H2 I tink that goes up around North Beach.... what is up with all the junk cars just rusting on the side of the road? People just abandon them there? And is that legal? Pretty unsitely for paradise

BTW Crazy, 1LE's are still more rare and to the other guy $45,000 is considered cheap for some numbers matching 1st Gen Z28's.

I'd heard about California and Arizona having high-speed pursuit vehicles, but typically there not where I live. Police equipped cars are popping up with better then average prices. High mileage will definately weigh in to the equation.
Mine had 42+K and was listed around $11K or more to start with. I bargained after test driving/riding in it for $8,600, the final selling price. Mine is of course, a 350 TPI 89 vert
