My '89 LO3/T-56 weighed 3,584 when it was completely stock. It has t-tops, power everything but seats, and had the 15" wheels at the time. I never weighed the (3) 2nd-gen cars I had but they felt about the same.

I would say the 2nd-gen around the mid-1970s when the heavy 5MPH bumpers were introduced. I know my brother's '74 T/A tips the scales at 4,000 lbs.

This website I was just on had all the specs
http://www.f-body.org/tech/tech.htm
It says the second gens were 3616
the third gens it says were around 3100-3400 depending on z28 or convert
the fourth gens were around 3200-3500 depending on if you got a convert or z28
Then on a seperate site it said the first gens were 2700-3100 depending on options, motors, etc..
If anybody has another site that says any of this info is wrong please let me know. Hope this post helped.

i think the second gens were prone to more wieght due to options as well. becuse my '80 berlinetta scaled out at just shy of 4000 pounds. but it had a few things in it to that even a z28 did not have. like the motorized moon roof. with that big chunbk of metal and glass up there i would not have been surprised if it added a 150 or more lbs. and then all the stuff for the electric windows and junk (not sure if those were oem or aftermarket though.)

I think it goes lightest to heaviest

1st
3rd
4th
2nd

I base this off of a quote from the white book

"Nearly all deminsions were reduced, including a seven-inch shorter wheelbase, and weight was reduced by nearly 500 lbs as compared to the 1981 model. But, as the camaro has grown in weight over the years, the 1982 model was within 70lbs of the original 1967 Camaro."

It was Thirds that were lighter by 70lbs. IIRC, I said 40 by mistake earlier.

According to my buildsheet, the shipping weight of my car was 3478. the front weighed in at 2064 and the rear was 1414. I have never weighed the car, though.

For my 87 L98 IROC-Z it's 3,461lbs. for the shipping weight on my build sheet. It comes in at 2,064lbs. front and 1,397lbs. rear. Which makes sense as I don't have leather, trunk trim, locking storage cover, or cargo cover as you do. Besides those things, the car is fully loaded with the same engine, trans, axle, T-tops, body, etc. as you. (they even both came from the same state as you know)

It should still be close to that, I've only taken out some unecessary restrictive baffling around the air intake and all it has added is an all new stereo system with an amp and bass tube which are both light. Someday SFC's will add about 25lbs. to always keep it tight. (maybe full exhaust too )

shipping weight on my 82 Z28 was just 3296.

Front - 1945
Rear - 1351

That was before the interior was gutted, the A/C and emissons ripped off...and so on.
