seriously!

I'm putting this thread here because this is the busiest one. If it belongs some where else please help me with this.
I Have a question:

What would be the least amount of money you would take if you sold your camaro?

This question mostly pertains to the people that have 3rd gens that are basically untouched and are in pretty good condition.

Please be serious when answering ( I'm not asking if you would ever sell your car, just what is the least you take.)

I guess what I'm really getting at is, those of us that own the few camaros in perfect condition really determine what they are worth.

really curious!

Please anybody what to add any different views, please do so.

I have been offered $15k -$18k many times.

I know she is worth more than that just because of all the personal time put into workin on her.

And now with the new 383 and T56, I can't imagine selling her for less than $25k. Although no one would prob. pay that, that is what I would be looking for if I were to sell her.

I think the price is cheap for a custom car, with 425+hp...in any case..it all matters how bad the buyer wants your car.

perfectly untouched camaro like you have - with the heritage stripes and a perfectly running drivetrain...I'd expect to pay between 7k and 8k. But know that there are thos cars out there that still go for blue book value and are mint. That would be 4.5k to 5.5k

Personally I have 20,000 into my Formula . With that said, I could not part with her for less than $18,000... I guess when reality hits I have to say "SHow me the Money!" It would be hard to say if somoene flashed $15,000 in Cash what I would do... That would only be seen if it ever happens.

Even if a car is modded to crap and is in perfect shape i would never buy a third gen for more than 7k. Thats just my opinion. Thirdgens are going up in value, but good shape thirdgens are not that rare at all.

I think I agree with this statement. However, I could see myself dropping 10K+ for the cherry-condition, gun metal gray on gold wheels GTA with a 5.7 and leather interior and a stick.

I bought a 1985 firebird off my brother a few years back ( i no longer have the car) anyway it had a older 350 w5spd and i would have to say a 342 posi . let me tell you that was one Fast car! i payed 500 bucks ! the car was in primer and the gut was trashed ! but i shut up alot of my 5.0 friends when thay seen how fast this car was . later i found out the motor was out of a 1923 t bucket . i guess the guy did some work to it ? I had to get rid of the car after i blew the tranny ...with in a month of driving like a nut ..lol ...so i sold the rear and motor ...who knows where it is now ? but it was the fastest uglyest car i have ever payed 500 for!

Well lets see...i know my car isnt a Z-28...but regardless, i wouldnt take any less than 10-11k. Id hope to get 13k for it actually. I mean not that any normal person would pay it, but my car's NADA value is between $11,000 and $13,900 depending on if you rated it normal or excellent condition (I'd say its somewhere in between there, leaning more towards the excellent side). like i said, i doubt any regular person would pay that, but i'm sure if the right buyer (READ: Rich as hell, looking for a mint heritage edition Camaro) came along, he or she would pay that much.

Im sure that a rich basstard would want the supreme power train also... and a 305 T. B. I. just isnt what that person is going to want... and if it has a 305 tbi i am postive it is missing other options as well, such as the CD player, rear end... so id say 11k is way out of the question.

I would say that 11k is not out of the question. Like i said, a regular person like you might not pay 11k for my car, but a wealthy collector or just a wealthy uninformed buyer might. If someone has money and is looking for a MINT heritage, they might not car about the powertrain. Some might not like the z-28 spoiler, who the hell knows, but people do alot of wierd things. DOnt say something is out of the question just because you can't see it happening.

the people that will shell out big bucks for those kind of cars are going to want what they remembered, like a Z-28 or IROC or transam. IF someone was going to pay 11k for a heritage, they would expect no more than 15k miles...

not out of the question

I guess i should have gave my thoughts on this in my original question. the least i would take is $15,000. you guys and girls that have only owned are messed around with camaros that were in less than perfect shape, i can understand you not spending anything around that kind of money. and thats ok!

you people that own are have been around a camaro in perfect shape, that has been basically untouched i think can understand why the price i am thinking.

It never fails, after someone new see's my Z28, they always ask what i would sell it for. when i tell them i have yet to get a surprised look on there face. the reaction i get is with the way this thing is taking care of its worth it. i have to admit , i have very little mods done to it, nothing i couldn't change in a days time. what i have done is polished and powder coated original pieces (not any wierd colors). that's what i mean basically untouched and excellent condition.

Your thoughts?

I have been offered $16k for my car and I declined it. If something were to happen to it and insurance paid out fully, I would not think twice about paying over $10k for a near mint, low mile car. I like the 92 Heritage Cars, and would love to own one. I won't pay $16k for one in low miles, because I want the RS model. As others have said before, the higher performance cars get the $$. I would probably spend the full amount on a low mile IROC-Z that was well optioned, though.

I'd take 10k for mine. But I really don't think it's worth that. I do have all the documentation, window sticker, maintenance records, previous owners, etc.

The car is not "mint" but it's pretty close.

I had $12,000 into my 88 Iroc when I parted it. Made about $4000 back, and I still have a shell in the yard. Take it away for the price of the new clutch!

not at all, although you would probably need to look into shipping it into europe to get that kind of money.

a friend of mine has a 92 RS 305, (stick) perfect, with 8000 miles when he bought it a couple pf years ago, he paid $16k for it, and another guy over here paid almost $10k for a 92 RS 305/700r4 with 90000 miles.

any decent thirdgen here should fetch $6000 minimum.

my lean solid 86 sport coupe with 134000 miles, but a very extensive history is worth about $6500 wouldn't part with it for a penny less than $8000
