i just purchased what i think is either an 87 or 88 IROC Z i know it has the 305 tpi because it is a 5 speed that runs and it moves under it own power .. but it has no interior, and i believe the car was orginially red is there anyway to use the vin # to find out any info i can about the car RPO codes or anything ... i plan to restore it so anything is a help...... this is my first restoration so i am a bit lost on were to start the vin # is

I know it sounds like a basket case of a car.... but for 500 dollars it think it was a good investment or at least i hope it is

 

Well presuming the hatch area is still somewhat intact, the glove compartment back there should have the RPO codes inside.

 

If the car is an 87 or 88, the RPO codes should be in the center glove box. If thats been removed also, then go the dealer with your VIN and see if they can get you a list of your RPO codes.

 

the center glove compartment is gone so i guess i will have to check my local dealer.........
