The only set I’ve seen is a set I bought on ebay. Most of the time sellers on ebay have the 83 to 92 style and say they are for 82 to 92, although technically they will fit 82, they aren’t right. I ones I’ve seen in wrecking yard are always broken. Good luck finding what you need.

yeah, '82 only from what I've heard. I got a set in great shape from a junkyard, I just need to change the color from maroon to black

That is correct, '82 only. My drivers side was cracked in half, took me awhile to find someone that had one NOT broken. Since they were only made for 1 year it does make them somewhat difficult to find.

yup.
They have a retractor in the roof and just a bolt on the bottom, which is the same way the 4th gen belts work

def 82 only. I have an extra pair of those scuff plates b/c I went from a very light grey int to black. I am not sure if the retractable seatbelts work with these plates, if not you would have to get 82 only seatbelts. these seatbelts are a direct swap.

well the reason i grabbed a set of these is to use with 4th gen seatbelts that also don't have a bottom retractor. I don't know why they decided to go with dual retractors in 83 and then back to a single retractor in 93.

Its all about cost... The 93 4th gen cars were cheeper to produce than the 92 3rd Gen cars. Less metal, less components, Even the LT1 intake was downgraded by 3 pieces from the L98, it all adds up. Even being made in Canada saved them a lot of money. Even in 1993 GM was slowly fazing out the cars because they could not sell them for enough money, the writing was on the wall, and a little heindsight...
