'91 Firebird crash test results and gas mileage...maybe repost.

I was searching for peoples personal websites on their cars and this came up. The first link is to crash tests and it got 4 out of 5 stars, not bad. I thought it would get 3 at the most, but I guess being made out of steel and like 10ft of car with a V8 motor before the cabin helps a bit. The 2nd is official mpg tested. Not bad. I guess my car is running factory fresh in that dept.

Sorry if this is a repost. Thought I would share.

Regardless of the # of stars these cars get, it's not a car I want to wrap around a tree or smack a Mack with. Mine's a vert too, and I've had not too pleasant thoughts of that very 'close to my head' top release handle scalping my noggin in a head-on.

On a happier note, the gas mileage ain't too bad (305 w/manual).

On a sadder note, $3.00+ a gal of petro is a bummer.

My bro wrapped his '91 firebird around a lightpole one drizzly morning. It looked ok.

I don't recomend the child transportation configuration below but I do imagine that I am heavier than anything else I hit.

15 MPG in town, 25 on the road.

Wow my highway fuel economy actually beats the estimate. That doesnt happen often. Most people think im lying when i tell them my v8 camaro can get as high as 32 mpg. Of course they dont realize its the emissions special 305 with a set of 2.73's out back.

One thing to note about the crash test ratings. In a front end crash you feet and legs are most at risk. Those ratings were for head and chest. In a side impact your head is most at risk. Those stats dont acount for either of the likely injuries.

Good link thou. Lots of good info.
