Gettin back into it!
Gettin back into it!
Well I always regreted selling my 1991 RS. It was the best car I have ever owned. It ran flawlessly for years and so I have always been keeping an eye out for another and today I think I found one. I was cruising around and found an all original 91 1LE car with 54k for 3600 bucks. It is white and the body is a little rough (no rust but chips and small dents). It is a hard top with the 305TPI and a 5 speed. I think I am gonna get it.
My question is what came with the 1LE and is there an easy way to identify one from a distance? Why is this such a desired package I mean is it that much of a bonus to have a free flow exhaust and no AC? I guess I am just looking for some convincing on buying this car. Thanks for reading this and it feels good to be back!

Typically the 1LE was without any options. Had larger 11 3/4" Front brakes, "G92" option for all those Chevy guys.
Basically a go and no show car, there are a few with the 1LE that were loaded out, but those are pretty rare.
There are ALOT of bogus 1LE cars out there so BEWARE!!!

Best way to check is to look at the RPO sticker on the car. If possible check one or two of them to make sure no one did a sticker swap on you. Sounds like a decent find.

if the sticker is removed or missing don't fret. take down the vin and contact pontiac historical services (www.phs-online.com) and you can pay 45$ and they will mail you a history package and FAX you the rpo list and other perdinent data. this way you don't miss out an a great car due to lack of documentation.... good luck.
