Go to the automotive section of your favorite book store, like Barns & Noble or Borders. You'll find a bunch of camaro books, and most of them deal with the older first generation models. I've got one that is titled, oddly enough, Camaro. It's got a pic of a firstgen pace car (I think) on the cover. It's about 8.5" square with a ton of color pics and a decent history. It was about $15. I just picked up another one titled (what else) Camaro. It's a hard cover and rather large. I forget what's on the cover. It was about $30 and has fantastic historical information. It's a brand new book and even deals with the potential demise of the 4th gen. It should be at any book store. You can also type in a search at www.bn.com or www.amazon.com.

I did the same type of thesis for my history class, I own a couple of these books. The only one I have acess to right now though is called... can you guess? "Camaro" by James A Dietzler w/ a 30th anniverary on the cover. It is pretty good. The best one I have read is a BIG red book called something like "camaro, the ledgend" i think. It has a lot of really good info if you can find it. I got the both at B&N.

That big red book is called "Camaro, Style Speed, and Spirit." It is probably the best of all the ones I read. It has a bunch of info on the begingings of the camaro, back when it was called the panther, and pics of the oringional clay models and such. (you can buy the book out of CLassic Industries, PN L533, $14.95)

My favorite one, besides "The Camaro White Book" (this will be great for option codes and production #s) is "The Illustrated Camaro Buyers Guide." Email me if you want the ISBN #. I think its a great general source for Camaro history.

I have it too. But to show you that even published literature can be in error, look on page 106. It shows two pics: 1) 1987 Z28 and 2) 1987 Sport Coupe. Something is incorrect in one of these photos. Can you tell me what it is?
