Special Olympic Package?

I have the opportunity to purchase a bank repo '84 Sport Coupe with 120k miles, LG4 engine, auto, and T-tops that was originally dark brown, but is now pearl white.

I have a few questions about the RPOs though.

After running the RPOs through several decoders, I find that I have a few codes that remain a mystery, and none of the RPOs I have been able to decode show it as a T-top. Also, I found the 1A3 RPO listed on the sticker to be a 'special olympic package', of which only 3,722 were made. Can anybody explain this to me or offer any clue as to what the 'special olympic package' is? Does anyone have any pictures of what an original example should look like?

Thanks in advance.

The Olympics package was offered exclusively on the 1984 Sport Coupe. It consisted of body striping in orange and blue. It also contained an Olympic decal on both sail panels. As far as I know, all Olympic package cars were white. Are you sure yours is not originally white?

Thanks for the reply.

So, other than special stripes, this is a plain old Sport Coupe with a wimpy V8? Did the stripes look good, or was it just goofey. I found the drivers door tag that said it was altered by "Custom Van of Utah". Was this a nationally or regionally offered option? Would it be remotely worthwhile to try to bring this well worn vehicle back to original?

And yes, you were right, it really was originally white. I tried to match the paint code of 3967 uner the console lid to 67(dk. brn). I looked at the trim tag today and the paint code there was 11(white). It looks like as of 01/84 when this one was made they were using the lid codes that carried into '85. I should have had a clue when I noticed the firewall was white. Also, am I correctly decoding 1FP8T on the trim tag as a Chevy base level coupe with a T-top?

If anyone has any pictures or brochure scans of this option, I'd like to see it.

Thanks again.

I purchased an 84 Olympic Camaro. It is a pretty nice car with some quirks. It has this stupid console type stereo that I can't swap out. Also the speedo is digital, but it still doesn't go over 85 MPH(bad because I am over in Germany right now, gotta love having a Camaro on the Autobahn).
