the previous owner of my car had some kind of russian death grip i think because the top of the steering wheel in my 91 Z is a bit frayed to say the least, ever see jim85's iroc steering wheel when he bought it? kinda like that, i'd like to keep the airbag and such so i wanna just get the wheel re-wrapped, covers are ugly, so what other choice do i have. Anyone know anyplace that does this service and how well it is? A new one from GM is like $230 which is rediculous, that's without the airbag even!

I have an IROC wheel with a fairly chewed up rim too, that I was planning on putting in the RS at some point. The best I have seen any local trim shop be able to do is stitch a new leather cover over the existing rim....much better than a wrap, but there will still be the old leather on the spokes showing, as the aftermarket cover will only cover the outer rim And they want $120 to do this too, so needless to say I'm dragging my feet on the idea.

I bought a like new factory leather wrapped wheel, including air bag, on eBay for $160. delivered. Someone changed out their factory wheel in a 91 RS. Keep looking there until someone else sells one. Good luck.
