Hi all.
I was wondering what the general consensus on the value of my car. I am renewing my insurance and want to make sure it is adequately protected even though the thought of buying a new one has crossed my mind recently. The car is a Jet Black Camaro Z28 Coupe 305 H0 with a 5 speed transmission and F-40 body stylings, 40K miles and in very good shape. I believe it to be an 1LE performance package model with the Vette aluminum brakes and the rest of the goodies. The car is completely stock except I added power locks with the alarm system. The car has fully functional A/C. The car runs great and since I bought it 2 years ago (with 13K) I have driven it as much as the climate allows (most of the 40K are highway miles). I would be glad of people's input.

Robin,If the car has factory A/C then it is not a "1LE' car.

Check your SPI label for G92,C41, and 1LE.There is a chance the A/C was added later,I have seen two 1LE's like this.

I have heard that A/C was an indicator of a Z28 not being a 1LE and also opinions to the contrary. I know from expensive routine maintenance (the stuff you pay for if you aren't particularly mechanically gifted like myself) that my car has the aluminum oversized brakes not standard on the Z28s, 2 chromed Catylitic converters, basic no frills interior (no power windows or even a cassette deck) but for the Air. In body style the car resembles a '92 anniversary edition complete with side scoops and back fin, an 305 ci V8 LB9 engine + MAN 5 SPD, B0RG WARNER, 2.95 1ST, O/D, a center pipe from the converters that had to be specially ordered. If it isn't I will accept that but I do know that it drives great (most important thing!!!) and the mechanics at the local Chevy dealer remember the car and drool over it every time I bring it in. My insurance company lists the book value at around $4500 - I was wondering how much to insure it for. If I could get another car like this for $4500 I would start filling my garage.

Does anybody know what RPO code 1AY is? I was matching the codes as per suggested and I match G92, have C60 HVAC system rather than C41 but the code that stumps me and this RPO code listing is the 1AY designation. Now I am really curious
