The color code for 1988 Dk. Red should be 74U. I know this is true for Chevrolet F-cars. But I'm not sure about Pontiac.

The correct paint code is 74 and the correct WA number is 8748. Without the correct WA number, you won't get a correct paint match.....

The name of the color is Flame Red Metallic.
