how many g92's in 91

I'm checking out a car. 91 z28, 5.0, dual exhaust, auto. (I dont know if it has AC)

I was wondering if the dual exhaust only came with the g92 option? If not, what are the possiblities that this could be a G92.

And, what did the package include in this year??

Thanks everyone

Odd... by dual exhaust, do you mean 2 exhaust pipes exiting the muffler, or 2 cats? If you've got a dual cat 5.0 TPI auto car, thats quite odd, and definately not stock.

as for G92, I believe in 91 it includes

145MPH speedometer and 5000/5500 tach
oil cooler
3.42 rear end
dual cat converters
for 305 TPIs, the same cat-back exhaust as 350 TPI cars

I think that about covers it... AFAIK its available only on 305 TPI 5 speed cars, and was standard on all 350 TPI cars that year

Bright White
5.0 TPI auto
Flowmaster 3" 2 chamber catback
Trans Go shiftkit
2000 stall converter

6,813 G92 optioned cars in 1991. Book says Z28 coupe only. The 230hp 305TPI motor got the dual cat option. That's partly what uppped the HP on a stock 205hp 305TPI to 230hp.

The G92 package in 1991 included 4-wheel discs, engine oil cooler, dual cat's, it was mandatory on 5.7's, available on 5.0 tpi's with 5-speeds only. When your ordered a car with out A/C and you ordered G92 you got the 1LE. This option was available for Z28 coupes only You could not order t-tops with this option either. If you want I can run the VIN Monday and tell you what came on the car from the factory. Chris

Hey, that would be the greatest. I now know that this car is definately not a G92'er. (auto and t-tops) I am actually asking because I am looking to buy this car, and would be completely grateful for any extra information you could give me. Here's the vin. 1G1FP23F2ML128660

Your car was built on 06/07/90 (1991 Camaro production started 02/05/90, because the '91's were introduced early) your car has, power locks, power windows, remote hatch release, custom interior, front and rear floor mats, body side mldgs, t-tops, rear defogger, a/c, inside mirror with reading lamps, limited slip axle, rear drum brakes with cast iron drums, 5.0 tpi, 700r-4 trans, am/fm cassette, red cloth interior, dark red metallic exterior color. 2.73 gears. your engine code is CLH your transmission code is 1FZM and your axle code is 8HT, this car was also built for a dealers stock order. theres more on the list, but those are the main ones. Wow, thanks for all that, you have no idea how much that will help me. Now I just have one more problem. I dont think the guy selling the car has the remote part for the rear hatch. Will GMC still make these, or would I be SOL? If they do, what would something like it cost?

Hi,

You shouldn't have much trouble replacing parts on that car. It sounds very similar to my own but for colour and trans. GM seems to be able to come up with just about anything. I had to replace the motor apparatus ($150) on my rear hatch last year. I got the parts from GM without any problem (came in 24 hrs) and it has worked fine ever since. I can't tell you how much it will cost - Sorry.
