I have a 86 Sport Coupe, and I was just wondering what features appeared on the sport coupe for the first time this year, or only for this year?

I know this was the only year for the brake light on the top of the hatch, but what else is a first appearence or only year appearence on the 86 Sport Coupe?

Let's see..... The 1986 Sport Coupe was the first year the F41 suspension became standard... It was the first year 15" tires were standard... It was the first year the lower body was painted (other than body color)... It was the first year for factory striping -- it received the silver/charcoal striping from the 1982 - 1984 Z28.

Actually, the high mounted third brake light was also used on 1987 Sport Coupes NOT equipped with the optional rear spoiler.

Good question. How about this one>>> It is the ONLY year that factory fog lamps were available on the sport coupe. Footnote: It was also included in Option Package #4 on the 1987 LT.

I hate to burst the 3rd brake light bubble, but any 87 car without a rear spoiler also got the high mount 3rd light on the outside of the window.
