I bought a 1987 RS camaro, and i was looking through the logs that one of the owners kept, and around 30,000 miles they had a new engine put in. It is a 305 with a 4 barrel, and i am not sure which engine it would be. The cars vin number shows that it originaly had an LG4.

Camaro Rally Sports came with 305's stock my buddy has one the same year and thats what he told me about

 

Chances are its a 305. You'd need to check the casting numbers to be sure.
