85 T/A with Recaros
I was working out in the sticks the other day and saw a white 85 T/A (no pin stripes) with the correct 16X8 rims (gold)
It had recaros! Looked to be in excellent shape as well. A hardtop too!
Just wondering if there is a production total for Recaro seats?

It was on the road driving. Second time I saw it but first time I noticed the seats.
I imagine it would be a 305 TPI/rear discs but could be a variety of things.

Most of the 85-86 Recaro's were 305 tpi.I even saw a 86 Recaro with 305 tpi/digital dash talk about rare.Guy also had a hardtop '89 TTA

No production totals revealed, I have a hunch its in a file cabinet in storage someplace.
Even so, total produced subtracting survivors will reveal a very low number, the pallex was not very durable especially under an T-Top.
The Recaro buckets have extreme contours and that adds to the wear of the seat cover.
I guess you didnt see a 3rd brake light, that would be one way to tell the difference on the outside. The diamond spoke style rims had their debut in 86, thats another indication of a 86 car.
Most of the 85's AS5 cars were black or white Trans Ams, you will find more reds in 86, this is just from observation. I have seen pics of a gold T/A, that one would be a real gem if its still around.
The seat option was avaialble on all Firebirds in 85-86 however I have yet to see them on anything else except a T/A's.
