$19,325 IROC Vert????

I've been watching third gen verts for about 6 months now. However, I don't see why this car brought so much money.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I'm thinking the car is worth $14,000-$15,000 tops.

Could it simply be two folks really wanting the car.
What am I missing?

The reason is simple, prices are going up faster than many will accept.

One of the moderators here. He has a nice looking mint IROC show car:

Looking at that car, would you belive it's almost 20 years old, and still original?

That is exactly why I could never understand the idea of a show car. The entire point of owning an old Camaro is that you can have fun with the damn thing, and drive it.

Man, someone wanted that bad. 38K? You can find lower mile examples for comparable money and unless his camera is goofy, that interior is faded pink.

i could never own a traditional showcar that sits in the garage unless I had a LOT of money. I'll always buy and build my cars to DRIVE..

.. unless I win the lottery. Then I'll buy a few of the '09 Camaros and let them sit in the huge garage until 2040.

THere is a proverb about a man that gathered his grain and built large barns to hold it all. It was enough grain to last for years to come... That night he died.

The moral, Enjoy our cars, our time here is short enough...

For $19,000, I think I would have rather had this one.
Its got only 20000 miles, has a cat back, new tires, stereo, new top etc.

Do the IROC verts seem to more collectable than the 91-92 z28 verts?

yes, i think the irocs bring more money than the 91-92 z28 because they have more of a history.

Only time will truely tell on that, Because the IROC-Z's were up level Z28's from 85-87 I would think that the IROC would be worth more than a Z28 foir those years.

However from 88-92 they were the same car, because they did not make a base Z28 from 88-90, as they were all IROCS. When GM lost the licesnse to make IROCs, they reverted to the Z28 nameplate back in 1991 & 1992.

The IROC's that will be worth the most will probably be the 1990, because its the mose uncommon, and the most valuable Z28 will be the 1992... but were talking 20 years.

Of course that does not take into account engine & trans options etc...

i think this price is 2 much
i ve seen 2 red iroc verts go for 14500$ and they both
had less than 9k miles,(about 2 months ago)

and another guy was asking 15000$ for a 1988 vert with 5 speed
and G92 and 17k miles,

but im sure that 10 years from such verts will be worth
at least 50000$

Technically the value of anything is what someone is willing to pay... THis one happens to be worth $19K...

I ain't complaining, it just means the rest of our cars will be following suit.
