convertible people help me out please

when i bought my convertible, it was a repoed car, and the owner cut into the top by the, i guess it would be b pillar, like an upside down L type cut about 6-8 inches i would say, to get even. anyhow, where could i get a new reasonable top, and is there a way i could just fix it myself for now to where it's half way decent until i get the money?

time for a new top. Scan down this thread and look for one from 89convRS or somebody. It lists some good places and prices.

As I see it you have a few options here. You can have an Auto Upholstery shop repair or replace the top. Or you could repair it yourself with an iron on patch kit that repairs jeans. I had a small hole that had worn through repaired in that same location when I had a new rear window sewn in. Good luck, Lon.

I bought one at J.C. Whitney and it seems to hold up good. It isn't the same type of material that the oem uses. It is more like your a strong vinyl. I would have much rather used an oem top, but my car is driven only when it's nice out, so I didn't see the need. The Whitney top cost about $200 and takes about six weeks to get in.
hope this can help.
