Was there an option for leather seats in the IROC in 85? I just bought an 85' Iroc and the seats are cloth in the middle, and either vinyl or leather on the outside. So was it an option, and what is it, leather or vinyl? thanks for your help...

87 was the first year for leather, and I think it was as you described, with cloth in the middle. Maybe somebody did a switch-a-roo.

IS there a way of finding out if the seats are original?? thers no RPO code list for it so i cant just run the sodes and find out. But im pretty sure they are original, this car has 1364 miles on it, and it hasn't moved for 16 years, i doubt anyone would have taken the time and money to replace the seats... anyone else know anything about these seats?

Zupman, you're sure there is no RPO list in the console? If so the trim tag has the interior code on it. Check the top of the radiator support, if a TPI car the air cleaner duct must be removed. I'm very curious about the interior on your "new" IROC. I ran across a similar interior on an '84 H.O. Z28 it was also cloth with vinyl inserts on the seats.

actually 86 was the first year for leather , but your 85 might be a late model year car , that got some of the newer options

The camaro White Book states 87 as the first year for leather. Is this wrong?

I believe '87 was the 1st year for leather.

A side note: the cloth/leather seats Jim is describing were actually the optional '88-'90 upholstery. I have the '89 brochure showing the leather bolsters with the cloth inserts. And yet for some reason, the '87 option package had ALL leather...I have seen this on 2 different '87 IROCs...go figure.
