what kind of options are available for a factory 89 Trans Am (not a gta). I was planning on buying a one and I wanted to know what to look for. I know for sure it is a 305 automatic with t-tops.

 

There were LOTS of options available for the '89 T/A. The only options not available were the model specific options that came standard on the Formula and GTA.

For example, like the 16" (high-tech) turbo alloy wheels that were specific to the Formula model that year. GTA specific options like the "Ultima" 6-way power-lumbar seats and UT4 radio with redundant steering-wheel controls were also not available on the '89 T/A. Other than that, I think that's mostly it.

However, if you think about it, the GTA was in fact an OPTION on the T/A. Choosing the GTA package gave you all the standard GTA specific options in addition to the standard model specific options on the T/A platform.

At any rate, the "T-tops" are RPO CC1 while the "305 auto" could be either RPO LO3 (TBI) or LB9 (TPI).
