I've got an 89 IROC with a 305.. VIN 1G1FP21E5KL183854. My shifter is the square type, not the spherical ****.. And I once heard somewhere that only 350's came with this square ****..

So, umm.. anybody have any idea about that? heh (Did they put the square shifters on 305's as well?)

According to the VIN, you have the LO3 but doesn't explain why the shifter is different. Are you the original owner? Could it have been changed out?

The information given at irocz.com is wrong. The last year for the spherical shift **** for the automatic was 1986. All automatic equipped cars since 1987 have the "square" ****.
