Firebird / Trans Am Differences

Can anyone tell me the differences between a firebird and Trans Am besides the obvious ground effects and tail lights...is there anything different in the suspension, under the hood, or in the exhaust system,....my T/A just seems like a luxury car compared to my old firebird of the same year and someone told me the only thing diff. on it was the Ground effects and tail lights

F41 Level II suspension package is standard. WS6 (Level III) is an option. Also there are no V6s in T/As, just V8s... depending on the year a number of V8s were available, 305 TPI, 305 TBI, 350 TPI, and the carbed LG4 as well. After 1990 the 305 TPI was standard engine in all T/As. Externally, the T/A has the aero wing spoiler and a different hood in addition to ground effects and different taillights than the Firebird.

Yes there are some differences, but do a search for this here and on the Tech Board, and u will find some topics that should have almost all of them.

Im no expert in the history but hopefuly this helps. My 1988 Firebird has most of the options a T/a would except for a few things (better engine, better suspension, better rearend). Mine has a 305 TBI A4speed, with all power, a/c, t-tops, rear-defroster, tilt steering, 2.73(fuel economy gears). Im not sure if my Firebird had the option to have leather seats though. I think if you wanted a 350 you'd have to go with a Formula, T/a, or GTA T/a(My favorite ). I think the Formula had most if not all the options you could get with a T/a except fot the ground f/x. Even though at times I'd rather have a GTA I still love my Bird.

Shouldn't bother putting this but hey what the heck:
