Convertible Top Squeaks.....Help!!!!

Okay, I know I am the proud owner of a notoriously flexible car that is famous for squeaks and rattles. However I have one squeak that is driving me insane.Let me start off by saying that I have only had the car on the road for a week. I have noticed a very loud squeak comming from the passenger side Lockdown when the roof is up. I have checked everything I could see as far as fasteners are concerned and they are all tight. I have noticed that the pass side lock is very easy to latch compared to the drivers side that has some resistance. Has anyone had/have this problem and could ayone think of a possible cure?I guess I could just turn up the radio but its the crappy OEM radio with the original "tired" speakers that distort very easily, almost as bad as the squeak .

This may sound strange, but check your Passwnger Visor. I just replaced the hinge on mine and noticed that the original one had some black, foamy stuff on it.. After a couple of day I now know what it was for... It was rubbing the metal above the hinge, so I stuck a small peice of weatherstripping. Problem solved...

If I remember you can put shims under the latch/handle assembly, thus allowing a tighter grip when the top is up and latch engaged.
