difference between gta years, and gnx wheels

hey i have set of what i think are gta wheels on my car, i have two "rears", which are identicle, and one "front", which matches the two rears, but the other one i have says "rear" on the inner hub, but the polished aluminum outer ring is thinner than the other three. as if it has a bigger backspaceing(wheel sits deeper in well). the crosslace is the same as the "front" one,(has small dimple at end of each outer piont) the rears dont have this dimple. i was wondering if the different years of gta wheels had differences? or do i have one gnx wheel, and three gta wheels?

The dimples are the difference in the GTA wheels. The rears have a narrower lip, the fronts are wider. The GNX wheels are 9" wide, so thats pretty easy to tell if you have those or not. Probably not.

Do a search in this forum, someone had a post with pics of what you are asking about.

i think i have two rear gnx rims then, because they are definatly 9 inches, and they dont have the dimples. the "front" and the narrow lip rear i have got to be the gta wheels, they both have the dimples.

GNX wheels where 16"X 8" same as the GTA they where just zero offset wheels ,, plus earlier GTA wheels didnt have the dimples , I think 89 was the first year for them , i could be wrong on the year but i know the 87 and 88 wheels had no dimples

BZZZZZZZZZZTTT! And thank you for playing...

This is an article on the GNX, note the rim style, and near the bottom of the article, right side, says 9.0 x 16 in. This so happens to match the ones I have seen in person.

I would have just referred to turbobuick.com, but it appears to have been killed by its server.

If its not the gnx wheels then they could be aftermarket, the wheels made by American Racing which i have in my ride are 16 by 9,if you look on my sig and click on the link you will see my car and the 3rd pic down is a close up of the wheels, perhaps they are the same as yours,i would also check to see if the centercaps all match up,i cant fit the gta centers on my AREs because the gta caps are too big,do both your fronts have dimples where the cross laces meet the chrome outer rim?,p.s.thanks dave, the trans worked out fine.
