85 T/A RPO UT4 ?
This has to be the best MB, too bad it took me a week to find it !
I have an 1985 T/A with Recaro seats and WS6
the car has 57,000 miles and the LB9.
My WS4 says I have a UT4, my steering wheel is a a std one with NP5. Now Im thinking that because my UT4 with the UQ7 has been replaced with a super tuner, and the UT4 is missing, my car has been in an accident.
If anyone has a T/A with the UT4 please reply.
Radio, AM-FM Stereo Cassette Equalizer, Clock (Steering Wheel Control) - UT4
Performance sound system - UQ7
Leather Shift **** and Steering Wheel??? - NP5
Regards,
Don

I hope you are right, Im
Thanks for the Reply, According to thirdgen.org; UT4 : RADIO, AM/FM-ST CASS, AUTO NR, TOUCH CONTROL, STEERING WHL CONTROL
There is a "Gain" button with a volume slider with the other buttons on the dash (rear window defog, hatch release, fog lights).
There is a badge next to the radio "Performance Sound", I have UQ7 also.
This has me worried, the car drives like a champ, no indications of a wreck, underside has no damage. Because of the steering wheel and/or column swap Im bummed out. The car has no decals except on the sail Panel. It has been repainted or decals were deleted.
Or maybe that sound system had problems and was changed. I want all the original stuff back though !
Tires, P245/50VR16 Steel-Belted Radials – QDZ
Wheels, 16x8 Cast Aluminum - N96
The car is black with cloth Recaros, Tan interior and T-tops.

Cool deal.
The steering wheel controls didnt come out until much later, like around 88 or 89 on GTA's only I am pretty sure. The 85 I had was fully optioned except power seat (which you couldnt get with the recaros) so I know all about the options and stuff.
The slider gain control is part of the UQ7 subwoofer package, they are... heh... really killer
4" speakers in a ported enclosure on both sides of the rear seat, along with 4x6's in there too, rather than the more common 6x9's in most of the other F-bods. Most people ditch the stuff for 6x9's. My enclosures off my 86 are sitting in a cabinet collecting dust
The steering wheel should be a rough black finish on the metal areas, and the outer rim and parts of the spokes are covered in what I think is a naugahyde or other simulated leather, and the top half of the outer rim is leather. Its stiched on the inner edge of the rim and the backside of the spokes.
You car has probably just been repainted. There were some paint quality issues, and thats more than likely what it was.

Thanx max, I feel more at ease, I have seen the wheel mounted controls and think they look silly. I have always dug the formula type steering wheel, I thought it was cool they used them on later model GTOs. My paint RPO reveals that water base paint was used so that explains the repaint. What color was your 85?

Mine was white with a beige interior. It was extremely well taken care of and was always in a garage while the previous owner and I had it, so I didnt have the paint problems everyone else did. I have an 86 now (its black), and it was repainted because it peeled off.
