DID THEY EVER MAKE A Z28 CONVERTIBLE WITH A 350?

If anyone has a 92' Z28 5.7TPI, black, leather, and 3.42 gear I will gladly buy it off them. If it's not outrageous.

GM says no, but there are a few that slipped through. There are also custom conversions done by ASC for "special customers", so they do exist.

JDMZ28, expect to pay $10,000+ for a great condition car. For a good condition you may find it for $6500-10,000, $2500-6500 for average-poor, and anywhere from $1-2500 for a totalled one. So reasonable for most is out of the question. Those are the prices I've seen on various sites and ads and most are Z28 305 TPI.

POOP! I just called on a black one for 8500 and it was sold. It was black with leather, not sure on the mileage and engine but it looked nice.

Well, if you didnt want a 92... and a Camaro, I would say yes. There were a bunch of 89 GTA verts with the 350 made, and supposedly authorized by Pontiac.

The only gears available with 350 engines is 2.77 9-bolts, 3.27 9-bolts, or 3.23 10-bolts. You wont find a factory 350 engine of any top-style with 3.42 gears, stock. Just in case you were wondering that.

And for a 350 L98 in a convertible? Good luck!

i was thinking about asking this same question, so if a guy around here is selling his 1991 blue z-28 convertible with a "350" I should run the VIN? If this is one that "slipped through" it would be worth quite a bit, right?

6th VIN # would be a 3 for conv.,and 8th VIN # would be a 8 if its a 350.Also the service parts sheet in the center console with matching VIN would have B2L and L98.9 1/2 out of 10 times its a 305 and the owner knows and thinks you wont or they're as dumb as rocks and think because its a V8 and l"looks" like a Vette engine its a 350.However,Someone inside GM could have ordered one,but I've only heard about 1 in Hemmings.Your best bet is finding a 305 convertible with high miles in good condition, and putting a crate 350 in,or an L98 from a salvage yard and getting it rebuilt.

I'm going to look at a 91 black convertible with red leather and 17" rims on Monday. It has a TPI 305, auto, loaded, with 64,000 miles for 10,500.

I went and looked at a 95' T/A today very nice. 40,000 miles, auto, Red, black leather, t-tops, fully loaded, mint condition, for 12,000.

Uh, if I'm not mistaken I've seen 91-92 camaros with t-tops. I'm actually sure I have.

Kevin 91Z your car does not have t-tops?

Nope, my car doesnt have t-tops. Most G92 cars (with dual cats) dont have t-tops in 91-92.

Camaro6spd,

They most certainly DID make '91-'92 cars with 350s and t-tops....just not many. I wanted to buy my friend's '91 Z28 350 t-top, but its a salvaged title

And yes, I ran the RPO codes...B2L and CC1 are right there

BTW, there was no way to get a 350/t-top RS. Only B4C's have 350s, and I doubt cops got t-top cars

JakeF2003 on this board has a Convertible L98. 1992, Blue...hell, I was driving it around all Friday night. He says he ran the Block numbers, and it came back L98, he had it dynoed, and it dynoed in the range of an L98. I believe he has 2.73 rear gears though. I think I'd rather have 3.23's, 2nd gear was way too long for me w/ the low gearing.

no 91-92 z28 convertables EVER came stock from the factory with a 350.

no 91-92 z28 350's ever came stock from the factory with t-tops.

The only rs models ever to come with 350's were the occasional B4-C and the 92 special edition that was never mass produced.

end of story..............
