How do you designate a thirdgen s/e trans am from a regular black and gold thirdgen trans am? I know with the second gens, the only way to do this is to see if there are any y codes on the build sheet. Another post on this board said 1985 s/e's have an x in the vin. Are 1984's like this too? I won't get my 84 until this weekend, so I don't have the vin yet. Do all s/e's have recaro seats? Mine doesn't, and the car is all original....

S/E cars are not trans ams , There are Firebird's with all trans am options vary from just ws6 option to V8 and suspension upgrades , most came with 4wheel disk and 305 but there are some v6 S/e cars , But they are not TRANS AM's
