Vin Question

I was checking the vin on my parts car and this is what it came up with, What Does the Carline Series stand for and what is a
Trans Am Special Edition??? The car is only an SE but has a trans am hood and tailights that im guessing aren't stock

No such thing as a Trans Am Special Edition, just a Firebird SE. I think Dirk needs to update that. Since it is an 86 it should have the Trans Am grill on the front of the hood just not on the sides. It also should have the T/A taillights I think.

Us T/A owners sometimes forget our cars are also Firebirds. The base line is:
Firebird
Firebird SE
Firebird Trans Am

The SE is called Firebird SE and is categorized as a Trans Am. It is identical to the Trans Am models, including the WS6 performance suspension, but without the rear spoiler, ground effects, and T-Tops.

Not everybody wants T-Tops or the TPI setup and with the WS-6 suspension and extra strength of the body with the hardtop roof, it actually is a very solid handling car offering an option in between the Firebird and the T/A.

The T/A looking parts on your car are stock.
