Last year for the 350 w/ t-tops?

What was the last year that you could get the 350 L98 motor with the t-tops option? Was it 88 or 89? Thanks

Matt

For the Firebird it was offically 1990 but I've found about 3 verified 91 GTA's with this combo even though it was not available.

And there are verified 1992 Formula 350's with t-tops. But for Camaros, it was either 89 or 90.

1989 was the last year, all '90-92 350/t-top combinations in Camaro were not factory built period. Chris

Actually the 1992 5.7L/T-top Formulas don't actually need to be verified, since it says plainly on the 1992 order sheet under RPO CC1:

"Available with B2L on W66 Formula w/PW7 wheels only".

There are a few early 1991 GTAs with this combo, but I've never actually seen one. But the Firebird cutoff was 1990. I'm pretty sure that 1989 was the last year in the Camaro.

Rather than saying this over and over, why dont you snap a pic of the RPO sheet and end this.

When I bought my '89 Iroc Z it was a dealer demo with T-Tops. Before I bought it I test drove an '90 B2L Iroc Z with T-tops. So from my experience I would say at least '90. No hard facts here, just what I experienced while I was looking for a 350 car with T-tops.

If you know of any "factory" 1990-1992 350 t-top Camaros, give me a VIN, I work for GM, I can run the VIN. T-tops were not available with the 350 or the G92 package from 1990-1992 FROM THE FACTORY. Chris

Ok, here is the deal...

I have the owner of the car sitting right next to me. We verified this car has the original 350, as he ran the block code # at a dealer. It is the original engine for this car. It does have t-tops. The RPO tag shows CC1 and B2L. Wanna picture?? Lemme grab a camera if no one believes me.

Maybe this car has aftermarket t's, but they sure as hell don't look it!!! The only thing that MAY be wrong here is that it isn't the original center console, but this is highly doubtful. The car appears to be all there, and the interior has no signs of being tampered with.

If no 350 t-tops were ever "officially" made, so be it. But there's a 350/t-top car sitting right outside, and it sure as hell looks factory to me.

I'll post the RPO tag as soon as I can get some film. If this tag is not the original tag for this car though, my apologies for raising hell But this car is a documented, original 350 and has factory-appearing t-tops...

Don't worry about it...I'm about to go down in flames anyways But this is VERY interesting...

Last night I went outside, and compared the VIN behind the windshield to the VIN on the RPO tag...they matched. Then I check the RPO tag...there's B2L. I'm thinking "great!" Ryan (the owner) is thinking he's got a VERY rare car. Then, I tried to find CC1...CC1....CC1...uh, where's CC1?? I look up, and yes, there are still t-tops on this car

I knew this car was a salvaged title (which is the only reason I haven't bought it yet), but we never knew it was this hacked up!!! I pried back a section of the t-top gasket, and there it was...blue paint...the same medium blue metallic that matches the chips showing through the red on the LR fender and back bumper. We knew that from the rear seats back, an unidentified blue IROC had been grafted onto this car, and the idiots who did it never bothered to sand all the blue off. Well, we never thought that the t-top assembly was grafted onto the car too!!

So yes, there IS at least one '91 Z 350 with "factory" t-tops. I just didn't realize that the factory tops came from an entirely different car I know this story is way far-fetched, but I do plan to put pics of it on my site in a few weeks to prove that I am not crazy!

Let the flames begin

Umm, I'm pretty sure that the last year you could get a camaro with t-tops and the l98 350 was 1989. I looked at an 89 iroc about a year ago, and it had t-tops, was also painted copper, looked beautiful. i'm thinkin i shoulda jumped on it, it had 65,000 miles, and they were asking 5,000 for it. but parents wouldn't let me get it, said the insurance would be too expensive.

I'm going to start looking for a 91 or 92 z28 when i turn 21, and the insurance comes down a little bit. All in only 3 short years!:rolleyes
