History / Originality Got a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!

Do we have anyone on the board that owns an 1989 1LE car?

Just curious if we do. I need to compare notes on car specs.

I've searched the archives, but no luck tracking anyone down.

Mark.

Hmm, your car might help actually. Do you mind crawling under the car (actually turn the wheels one way) and check out the part number on the front struts? Being a 3.8L, the struts should be different than a 1LE V8 car.

If I remember right, the TTA had the WS6 valved struts with V6 springs because of the lighter engine. Where would the part # be anyways? I might be able to check mine out (in the TTA) if they are not that hard to get to.

Should be a sticker on the strut more towards where it bolts to the spindle.

Least thats where mine are. My car isnt stored at home, so I cant just jump to it lol

If you turn the wheels one way, you can see the lower part of the strut. The part number is about 1" from the bottom of the tube, slightly to the inside of the frame. You might need a mirror to see it. I just stuck my camera in the wheel wheel and snapped a few macro pictures.
