Block ### ??? 83 L69
This was brought up to me before as to where the block # are. How ever I must be a moron. I have looked and can't find em. The block underside is stamped 305, the vin says it was a 83 l69, it looks original but where are these #? I have been told front left of block or even on the top flat spots? But thats not block exposed. Any one with the l69 or positively knows where they are on this car please help. Maybe even post pics if possible. Thanks, Matt

The one I have is casting # 201. The easiest place to see it is on the top of the bell housing flange, behind the driver's side head. The numbers stamped on the deck are something else, although if it's the original motor for the car, it will have the last 7 digits of the VIN stamped there. What's the engine digit of the VIN?

It is a 7. It is a l69 just at 170k wondering if original motor. It appears to be but not sure. Its way too strong to be a reg 305 and is stamped 305 on the front of block. I doubt it is a built motor. Only thing possible besides original motor is another l69 which I doubt. Thanks alot Ill look tomorrow.

#7 vin code. It's a l69 car just not sure if motor is original. I bet it is but not sure and want the block # to prove it. It's to strong for a reg 305 and the lower front is stamped 305 so I know it's not a 350. The holes for the snorkles are there and the dual air cleaner and rochester quadradrive ison there. I believe it's original if not its another l69 with out a doubt. Thanks
