Whats the main Difference??? Which one is easier to work on? Can you get the same power out of both???

 

TPI (Tuned Port Injections) is the higher performance set up of the two (the other being Throttle Body Injection). I doubt you can match the performance of TPI with a TBI, given equal motors. There used to be a guy on this board named Pablo who tried his hardest to beat TPI's with TBI without much luck. Lots of chip tuning problems as I remember. Basically, TBI is an upside down carb but Fuel Injection.spraying fuel into an intake like a carb. The TPI has a fuel injector per cylinder, and the intake is a dry system, air only.
TPI went on performance motors and cars (Vettes, IROC's Z28's) and TBI went on pedestrian vehicles (RS, Trucks etc).
Both probably require the same amount of knowledge to work on, just a few more parts on the TPI.
