"Early" 15th Anniversary Trans Am?

I saw an "early" 15th Anniversary Trans Am for sale this weekend and wanted to know if the guy who was selling it was creazy or not. I have never heard of this myself.

The car was an '84, and it was a medium blue color with the line pattern near the bottom of the ground effects that wrapped around the entire lower portion of the car.

It was not the typical white and blue color that the 15th is normally in.

The seller told me that Pontiac started with this version and that due to it's popularity, they had to change it into the white and blue car that we all know.

Personally, I thought this guy had been out in the sun too long, but I just wanted to check with you all here to see if you have ever heard of such a thing...

Never heard of it..I have a road test of a 15th T/A, and it mentions no such animal. GM can do dumb things, but it appears the only thing dumb here is the guy you spoke with,,,

In that case Ive got one too! My 84 is blue and silver, oh boy now ive got a 15th and a 25th

Does it have the 15th badges/ seats etc?

Um yea it sounds like the guy is BS'ing you.

I have thought it would be cool to see a 15th Inverse though, along the lines of the 30th inverse (Blue w/ white trim). Id also like to see a blue 25th w/ a white stripe.
I cant help but wonder what im missing.

Four TransAm's are not enough. Firebirds for all.

This guy sounds like all the naive people who wanna make their '92 or '97 Camaros sound more impressive by calling them 25th or 30th anniversary cars, merely because their '92 has a dash logo or their '97 has the 30th logo in their headrests...

I especially have fun with people who own '97s...when they say they have a 30th anniversary one, I ask them "is it white with orange stripes like mine??" 9 times out of 10 they say no, then I laugh and tell them it ain't an anniversary car then...then I listen to them swear their car is....people are just plain dumb.
