IROC-C Repost, sort of

A few months back I posted something about my wifes 85 Camaro. I tracked down the dealer that sold it to the original owner and he had put some goofy IROC-C sticker on the side (looked exactly like the Z stickers) to make the 6-cylinder cars sell as good as the z's he was running out of. There were three in Missouri (where the dealer is) I thought this was a good story but...

I moved to indiana about three months ago and I have seen THREE MORE of these "IROC-C's" All 85's, all black with black interior, dual pipes, no tach, and all automatics.

I have to think that there is something more to this than a dumb*ss dealer with a sticker happy salesman. Six of these in two states 400 miles apart? Seems like too much of a coincidence to me. Does anyone have any insight in to WHAT THE H*LL IS GOING ON?

Am I going insane, or am I going to have to go on a razor blade crusade?
