Yes I was looking into getting a 1992 Z28 and I was wondering what came standerd. Any info anyone can give me would appriciated. Thanks

 

For standard options you got the LB9 TPI 305 5 speed transmission, power assisted steering, power front disc, rear drum, audible disc brake sensors, 16 x 8 aluminum wheels, 235 55 r16 tires, ride and handling suspension, etc, etc,

Email for a pic of a window sticker for all the standard equipment.

Why does my 91 Z have 245 tires then?

Mine came stock with 235's. 245 tires were a option with the G92 I believe.

Hmm. I thought only the RS cars got the 235s.

I no have G92 or rear discs. Maybe a previous owner just went to those tires.

Nope...the optional 235/55/16 RS Eagle GAs were the standard Z28 tire....

Same idea on early 4th gens, except they used optional GSCs instead of ZR50s.

 

245's were an option as well as the 4 wheel disc brakes some came with rear drums.

 

I do not claim to be an expert, but I am fairly sure that 245's were not available on any 92's. They were available on 91's though. Why this is ??? I beleive Chevy was trying to build anticipaction for the 93's.

 

245's were available in 92'.

 

There were 3,645 camaros that came with 4 wheels discs in 1992.

And there were 3,761 camaros that came with the 245/50 tires. They were required with G92 z28's and the B4C camaros. There were 3,056 camaros with G92 and 589 B4C's for a total of 3,645 camaros that came automatic with the 245 tires. so, 126 z28's without G92 or B4C ordered the option 245/50 tires.

I know I got into the numbers a little bit, but perhaps this will clear up the confusion with 245/50 tires and with what options were necessary to get them.
