What was the shape and material of a standard
Auto shift **** on the 82-92 Camaro/Firebirds??

 

The camaro had a black ball with a button on top. The firebird had a t-shaped handle with the button on the side and mounted at a slight angle.

Most were plastic, but you could get leather shift ***** and steering wheels in option packages.

I'm not sure about the earliest of thirgen modles, though.

Have you found an aftermarket shift handle trying to be passed off as original? We all just love to bust people for such things on this board.
