OK i have an 88 L98 IROC. its got 3.27's and an oil cooler, 4 wheel disk, blah blah blah. question is, did all L98 3rd gens come with oil coolers or not? also what all was included in the performance package that gave you the 3.27 gears. did the package change from year to year? i have a buddy w/ a 90 IROC L98 car with 2.77's and he says no oil cooler but i was almost 100% that all 350s had some manditory options like an auto and an oil cooler. thanks for the help.

It changed from year to year. All L98 cars required the oil cooler and the automatic transmission. In some years the rear end gear was a mandatory 3.27 or 3.23 (9 or 10 bolt respectively) as were rear disk brakes, but GM substituted drums on some cars. Generally if you're dealing with a specifid year it should be pretty easy to find a dealers brochure for that year and determine what was required with each package.
