do i have a 1le???????
so i bought my car used and i dont really think the guy i bought it from knew what he had. i have been in the habit of beating 5.0 mustang gt's pretty easily lately and my car is bone stock and ive always been told that stock third gen 305's should be getting beat by 5.0 mustangs.
i know there were several different kinds of packages and stuff and i was wondering if any of you guys could shed a little light on what i have, (axle, package, ect...) anything will help.
here's what i know...1992 z28 305 5-speed, 4 wheel disk brakes, dual catalytic converters.
thanks for you help...

Look in your center console at the list of RPO's on the sticker. If it is a 1LE, one of the codes will be "1LE". If it does say that, verify the vin on the sticker to the one on the cowl to make sure someone didnt swap center consoles on you.

In 1992, the SPID is not located in the center console glovebox. It is on the inside of the rear compartment storage lid. Look for:

If you have power windows or power door locks, or fog lites, its not a 1LE.

Your car has A/C. So 99.999% chance it is NOT 1LE. But check the RPO sticker to be certain.

yah ive got power everything and AC and i didn't see a 1le code on the rear storage box.
i did see the g92 code though. any other sweet codes i should look for?
also, i have the dual cats, is that worth any more horsepower or did all 305 5-speeds have dual cats?
thanks for you help though, ive always kinda wondered about my axle.

1991 was the breakpoint year when Chevy decided to put the SPID in the rear glove box. Some this year have it in the center console, others in the rear. All 1992's should have it in the rear box.
