I stumbled across a 5.7 someone said came out of an 87 iroc. The machined pad on the right cylinder bank is stamped: " CC 5 95". Couldn't find any other stamped numbers, does anyone know what this means?

CE would be a warranty engine. Maybe CC also indicates a warranty engine. But it wouldn't make sense if 5 95 indicates May 95. Or maybe a crate motor.

I was thinking it was a crate motor, can anyone verify that?

Thanks for the input
