How many?

Does anyone know how many Firebirds were made in 1990? I have recently purchased a 1990 with 88,000 mi. It's black with the aero pkg., fog lamps, remote hatch release, 4-way manual seats, a/c, pw, pdl, spoiler, auto, 3.1 v6, with med. grey int. The vin no. ends with 210019 mfg. 10/89. This is my first 3rd gen. and I've already fallen in love again (don't tell my wife). I think I got a good deal on the car for $2600. It is in near perfect condition with only a few small details to repair. I'm new to the site, not new to passion for cars, if anyone can help, please do.

According to the standard catalog of firebird, 1990 model year production was 13,204 for base Firebird, 4,832 for Formula, and 1,054 for Trans Am.

The last six digits are the sequence numbers for the 1990 Firebird model year. The numbers incremented by one for each car produced. It didn't matter if it was a Formula, Trans Am or basic 'bird.

Pontiac often used a 2 for the first number, (I don't know why).. so the first Firebird to roll off the assembly line was stamped 200001

(Out of interest Chevy used a 1, so the first 1990 Camaro was 100001)

Your last six digits are 210019, so your car was the 10,019 Firebird produced for the 1990 model year.

So over 10,000 were built by oct of 1989? If there were only13,200 that year, then were they ALL built in 1989?
