2007 Car shows to attend!

Just an FYI...

2007 is the 50th anniversary of the 57 Chevy and also the 40th anniversary of the Camaro. GM acknowledges both of these models as icons to the Chevy name. In celebration of these birthdays, GM is celebrating large in 2007. For the past few years, Chevy has had the fbody gathering in Bowling Green at the Corvette Museum, but decided not to have the show this year. Instead, they are promoting the show in Detroit in August the weekend before the Woodward Dream Cruise. http://www.ecklerscamaro.com/camaro40th.asp

Also, Carlisle Pennsylvania is celebrating at the All GM Nationals in June. Both cars are the "guest of honor" and we should show the world that 3rd gens are out there and in force! http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/gm/details.asp

If any other large shows celebrating the 40th anniversary are known, post 'em up. Hopefully I'll see some more 3rd gens at these shows. They don't need to be show worthy to be present. Every show I go to has only a few 3rd gens. The Fbody Gathering in Atlanta usually gets a couple hundred cars, but only a dozen 3rd gens. Let's show the rest of the Camaro community that 4th gens and 1st gens aren't the only ones out there.

Last time i was at Carlisle was about 2 1/2 years ago and if i remember correctly dont you need to have your vehicle for sale to have it in the fairgrounds??? I'd love to take my car but I dont want to sell it!!?!

I'm going to the show in Detroit (40th anniversary) and the TA Nats this year. Unfortunately Carlisle is too far me as I don't have a trailer right now and don't want to drive the car that far.

I go to GM Nat's at Carlisle every year. I'm hoping we'll have the vert done by then. But at the rate we are going, it'll be the 50th Camaro anny. by the time we get that done.

Carlisle does have a car corral, but it's more a show than a sale yard. Bring your car and display it.

I have a trailer for sale if you can get it to IL from FL.

Thats what I love about carlisle. I was up there 2 years ago on a friday. There werent too many cars on the field but there was a lot in the corral. Thats were I saw a 1991 Z28 1LE with 80 miles. The car was amazing.

Don't forget about Thirdgen Fest. We had about 70 thirdgens last year and it continues to grow every year. This will be our sixth year. We believe it's the biggest and longest running thirdgen event in the world. It's held every Memorial Day weekend, May 25th and 26th this year, and is about 40 minutes south of Chicago. You can get more information on the "Thirdgen Fest '07" board of the Gatherings section.
